Capability
UD TRUCKS models range from the 1400 (14,250 GVWR), up to the 3300
(32,900 GVWR), with several models in-between to best suit your hauling
needs. The chassis are very customizable and DSU works with many body
builders to outfit your truck for your business. Some examples are
refrigerated goods, towing and recovery, fuel oil, construction,
building supply, air cargo, refuse/recycling, beverage, landscape and
nursery, and many others.
Power
UD TRUCKS are powered by a turbocharged, intercooled, dry sleeve
in-line 6 cylinder MD230 Diesel engine that delivers 230hp and 506
lb-ft. of torque. The engine is mated to one of several different
Allison transmissions (depending on model) to optimize the engine’s
strengths and payload requirements. The result is a balanced
powertrain that has gutsy performance in stop-and-go city routes as
well as longer interstate trips. The MD230 meets all current EPA
Emissions Standards and CARB requirements, making it one of the
cleanest commercial truck engines available today.
Cab
UD TRUCKS comfortable interiors feature excellent visibility to make
driving in crowded areas a much less frustrating experience. The
insulated aerodynamic cabs with rubber mounts and cab suspension
systems give a smooth quiet ride. There is also an optional powerful
air conditioning system, large steps and grab handles, as well as
doors that open almost 90º. These features make a big difference for
drivers that are getting in and out of the truck 30 times per day!

Some UD History:
UD TRUCKS was founded in Irving Texas in 1984 by Nissan Diesel
America (NDA).
UD TRUCKS have earned an outstanding reputation for quality,
dependability and durability. The "UD" trademark, which originally
stood for "Uniflow Diesel", became known over the years to mean
"Ultimate Dependability."
For the 1989 model year, the model designations of all UD TRUCKS in
the U.S. were changed. The new nomenclature promotes the "UD"
trademark and identifies the approximate gross vehicle weight rating
(GVWR). The CMA83 is now the UD1800HD, with a GVWR of approximately
18,000 pounds. The UD3300 has a GVWR of approximately 32,900 pounds.
In 2002 UD TRUCKS was awarded the ranking of Highest in Customer
Satisfaction Among Owners of Cab-over Medium Duty Trucks by the 2001
J.D. Power and Associates Medium Duty Customer Satisfaction Study.
This is the third time that UD TRUCKS had received an award from
J.D. Power and Associates.
UD TRUCKS continue today to build highly refined class 4, 5, 6, and
7 medium duty trucks.
